The workshop seminar “Basics of textile finishing” covers all the basic finishing options for textiles, from pre-treatment to intermediate treatment and post-treatment. Both dyeing and printing processes are covered in the seminar. Other topics include finishing and finishing as well as the coating of textiles.
In the subsequent workshop, a large number of experiments will be demonstrated in the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences’ refinement technology center or carried out together in the group.

Simon Goßmann is a trained textile finisher with further training as a state-certified textile technician and has over 10 years of experience in finishing development and application technology in the textile, carpet and nonwovens industry. He currently works for the state of NRW as a research assistant in the textile sector. He will introduce the participants to the theoretical basics of textile finishing.
Jörg Schrick is a trained textile dyer and finisher with further training as a textile technician and has been working at the Finishing Technology Center of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences for over 27 years. He trains students and trainees in the field of textile finishing and has been working as a lecturer for further training and courses at the NRW Textile Academy for several years. The workshop participants will carry out a variety of experiments with him.
