Preparatory course “Industrial foreman in the textile industry”

Admission requirements:

For admission to the IHK final examination, proof must be provided, among other things:

• A successfully completed final examination in a recognized training occupation (which can be assigned to the textile industry occupations) or a successfully completed final examination in another recognized training occupation followed by at least one year of professional experience.
• At least four years of professional experience (this includes the training period and employment that continues during the further training to become an industrial foreman).
• The successful completion of the AdA examination.

Examinations:

• The examination consists of two parts: Basic qualifications (four written exams) and action-specific qualifications (two written exams + technical discussion)
• Examination dates: Basic qualification: April 29 and 30, 2026; action-specific qualifications: individual appointment (written examination part expected in November 2026, oral examination part expected in January 2027)
• Registration: Online via the IHK portal (registration deadline for the spring exam: October 15 – January 15, fall exam: April 1 – June 30 of each year)
