Target:

The “Knitwear technology” seminar offers a comprehensive introduction to knitwear. Participants learn the basic elements of knitted fabric construction as well as in-depth specialist knowledge in the areas of machine technology, weaving theory and product development with knitted fabrics.

In addition, the knowledge acquired is deepened through intensive practical lessons and exercises in the laboratories of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.

  • Yarn insert (required yarn parameters)
  • Basic concepts of stitch technology
  • Basic elements Mesh structure
  • Properties of knitted fabrics – differences to other surface formation technologies
  • Basic weave theory for knitted fabrics
  • Differences between flat and circular knitting, warp knitting
  • Basic knowledge of the product development of knitted fabrics

 


Lecturer
:
Dr. Thomas Mutschler, Dipl.-Ing. Mechanical Engineering, was born into a family of knitters and began his career as an engineer for knitting machines in Japan after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then worked as a development engineer for textile tools in South Korea. As managing director and technical manager in the field of knitting machines, he offers specialist knowledge and practical solutions.
