Today, Dorothee Feller, Minister for Schools and Education of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited the Textilakademie NRW to get an idea of the dual training and educational opportunities offered by the vocational school. She was accompanied by the principal Anke Hollkott-Söhte, managing director Detlef Braun, mayor Felix Heinrichs, other industry representatives and members of the state parliament.
The visit began with a brief introduction to the NRW Textile Academy and a tour of the vocational school’s premises. A classroom visit and a tour of the neighboring machine hall of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences gave the minister a practical insight into the academy’s teaching and technical equipment.
The visit enabled those present to discuss the importance of vocational training in the region and emphasized the close cooperation between educational institutions and industry.
