Day 1: Theory I Basics of knitting technique
- Development of basic bonds
- Basic knowledge of the knitting process
- How a hand flat knitting machine works
- Basic structure of a knitwear calculation
Day 2: Practice I Knitting on the hand flat knitting machine
- Knitting basic knitting techniques
- Deriving a mesh run
- Setting a sample cartridge
- Recreating a knitted fabric
The seminar takes place at the Textilakademie NRW. The machine hall of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences will be used for practical lessons.
Lecturer:
Dr. Thomas Mutschler, Dipl.-Ing. Mechanical Engineering, was born into a family of knitters and began his career as an engineer for knitting machines in Japan after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then worked as a development engineer for textile tools in South Korea. As managing director and technical manager in the field of knitting machines, he offers specialist knowledge and practical solutions.
