Seminar objective:
In a globalized textile and clothing industry, systematic quality control is essential in order to reliably meet customer requirements, legal requirements and sustainable standards. This two-day seminar provides practical knowledge about textile testing procedures, legal framework conditions and efficient testing routines along the entire process chain – from incoming goods to production and final inspection. Participants will learn how to specifically test and evaluate design features, seam qualities and textile performance characteristics. Theory and practice are closely interlinked: textile testing equipment is demonstrated in the laboratory, seam strength is analyzed and color fastness is assessed.

Seminar contents:

Day 1:

  • Introduction to quality control
  • Legal requirements and standards
  • Textile test methods – Design features
  • Design features in practice
  • Performance characteristics and strength
  • Usage properties in practice

Day 2:

  • Influence of the seam
  • Seam quality and seam parameters
  • Fabric and seam strength in practice
  • Textile test methods – color fastness with practical assessment
  • Quality assessment in practice: dimensional control, recognition of processing errors based on a practical application of the strategies learned
