Day 1: Theory I Basics of knitting technique

  • Development of basic bonds
  • Basic knowledge of the knitting process
  • How a hand flat knitting machine works
  • Basic structure of a knitwear calculation

Day 2: Practice I Knitting on the hand flat knitting machine

  • Knitting basic knitting techniques
  • Deriving a mesh run
  • Setting a sample cartridge
  • Recreating a knitted fabric

The seminar takes place at the Textilakademie NRW. The machine hall of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences will be used for practical lessons.

 


Lecturer
:
Dr. Thomas Mutschler, Dipl.-Ing. Mechanical Engineering, was born into a family of knitters and began his career as an engineer for knitting machines in Japan after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then worked as a development engineer for textile tools in South Korea. As managing director and technical manager in the field of knitting machines, he offers specialist knowledge and practical solutions.
