Ribbon weaving – A course for apprentices

Target:

The course is aimed at companies in the ribbon weaving industry who would like to train their trainees, particularly in the specialist areas of weave theory and pattern analysis. The course is designed to take up the basics of fabric construction and put them into practice via pattern analysis. All basic weaves with derivations and rearrangements are covered and illustrated. The course is also suitable for lateral entrants who are to be trained in the above-mentioned subject areas. Special requests from participants and companies can be accommodated as far as possible.

Contents:

• Basic bindings (canvas/twill/atlas) with old and new abbreviations
• Deepening: derivations and reorganizations
• Introduction to the basics and the pattern analysis procedure
• Pattern analysis of different belt fabrics
• Practical implementation on needle tape weaving machines with small mechanical tasks (e.g. pulling in threads, roughly adjusting the weaving head, replacing small parts, installing and removing the control chain, weaving, checking for quality requirements)
