Course objective:
This training course provides in-depth knowledge of sustainability requirements, legal regulations and practical implementation options throughout the textile supply chain. The aim is to enable participants to systematically integrate sustainability considerations into their daily work and into their collaboration with suppliers.

Seminar contents:

Module 1: Introduction to sustainable supply chains

  • Significance and relevance of sustainability in the textile industry
  • Overview: environmental and social challenges in the supply chain
  • International standards (ILO, UNGC, OECD, SDGs)

 

Module 2: Human rights & Due diligence obligations

  • Overview of human rights risks (e.g. forced labour, discrimination)
  • Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) and EU Supply Chain Act
  • Risk analysis & Complaints procedures

 

Module 3: Environmental aspects in the supply chain

  • Water – and chemical management (e.g. ZDHC, DETOX)
  • Emissions and energy consumption
  • eco-friendly materials

Module 4: Transparency and Traceability

  • Why transparency is important
  • Product and material certifications (e.g. GOTS, OCS, RWS)

 

Modul 5: Zusammenarbeit & Kommunikation

  • Supplier development and qualification
  • Sustainability criteria in supplier contracts

 

Module 6: Implementation within your own organisation

  • Integration into procurement processes
  • Development of KPIs and monitoring mechanisms
  • Development of a sustainable procurement strategy
  • Industry best practices

 

Speaker:
Claudia Landgraf is Managing Director of t+m CSR Consulting GmbH, which combines advocacy work with the practical implementation of sustainable corporate and supply chain strategies. She supports medium-sized textile and fashion companies in making their supply chains environmentally and socially responsible. Prior to this, she spent almost 20 years building up the CSR division of a fashion company and developing its sustainability strategy, particularly in the area of supply chain management. She is also an amfori trainer and completed a Bachelor’s degree in International Management whilst working.
