Target:
The specialist seminar “Narrow textiles” offers participants a comprehensive introduction to the subject of braids and narrow fabrics. They learn about the different classes and machine designs of braids and narrow fabrics. In addition to the theory lessons, participants can see the variety of narrow fabrics, machines and possible applications on the university’s braiding machines.
Seminar contents:
Day 1: Lichens
- Introduction “Lichens”
- Classification of braids
- Differentiation of machine designs
- Specific application of the machine variants
- Braids and their areas of application
- Development innovation and design
- Practical exercises on various braiding machines
Day 2: Narrow fabric
- Weaving preparation
- Differences between broadloom and ribbon weaving
- Introduction to ribbon weaving
- Detailed machine technology
- Practice in the technical center
- Product examples and questions
