Target group:

  • Employees of any qualification from commercial and industrial/technical fields.

Target:

  • Achievement of level B1 (minimum standard for conversation and prerequisite for booking specialized modules) or optionally B2 via the basic modules.
  • Acquisition of specialist textile vocabulary for the respective production areas via the specialist modules.

Seminar framework:

  • Modular qualification measure “Technical English for textile and clothing production”.
  • Focus on “Conversation”, “Specialist vocabulary for textile and clothing production” and “Correspondence”.
  • Platform: Microsoft Teams
  • Technical requirements: Notebook or tablet with Microsoft Teams, PDF reader and sufficient network connection for video transmission (min. 16 Mbit/s).

Seminar modules (can be booked separately):

Basic module I: English language skills from starting level A1 to target level A2, approx. 100 h total learning time I License period 6 months

Basic module II: English language skills from starting level A2 to target level B1, approx. 120 h total learning time I License period 6 months.

Basic module III: English language skills from starting level B1 to target level B2, approx. 100 h total learning time I License period 6 months.

Specialist module “Clothing manufacture” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months.

Specialist module “Weaving” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months.

Specialist module “Coating” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months.

Specialist module “Dyeing” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months.

Specialist module “Knitting” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months.

Specialist module “Nonwovens” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months.

Specialist module “Spiders” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months

Specialist module “Lichens” approx. 50 h total learning time I License period 4 months

Module contents:

  • Live conversation chats (6 teaching units of 60 minutes each in basic modules and 4 teaching units in specialized modules) are offered individually or in small groups in all modules.
  • In each module there is a learning objective check via live video.
  • The basic modules include an intercultural section on “Small talk and leisure communication”.
  • The specialist modules each include a “German-English” glossary
  • Each module has a fixed “expiration date” of 6 or 4 months (for reasons of motivation). In justified cases (e.g. illness) there is an individual extension option.

Examinations and certificates:

  • In each module there is a learning objective check via live video.
  • Official certificates A2 and/or B1 and/or B2 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) are issued upon successful completion of the basic modules.
  • Upon successful completion of the learning objectives in the specialist modules, additional specialist certificates are issued by the Textilakademie NRW
