Description:
Sustainability in the textile and clothing industry is no longer a “nice-to-have” – it is the key to future-oriented corporate management and long-term success. But how can sustainability be effectively integrated into existing structures, processes dovetailed in a meaningful way and a clear strategy developed that really works?

Our Sustainability Officer for the Textile and Clothing Industry course offers you the perfect introduction: practical, industry-specific and with an eye for the essentials. Whether you are new to the topic or would like to deepen existing activities – we enable you to actively shape your company’s sustainability strategy, systematically establish or further develop sustainability management and support effective reporting.

You can look forward to a varied format with classroom and online components, individual exchange and a modern learning platform to deepen and apply the knowledge you have acquired. Together with our lecturer, you will work on the basics of sustainable development, learn about the requirements of the CSRD and ESRS and receive valuable impulses for communication and coordination within the company. In addition, the course will give you the opportunity to initiate VSME reporting in your company with guidance and support. In this context, application-related exercises will be carried out.

Objective:

Participants receive a sound introduction to sustainable development and are enabled to actively help shape a company’s sustainability strategy, set up or further develop a corresponding management system, coordinate sustainability-related processes and participate in reporting.

In addition, the seminar teaches practice-oriented strategies for avoiding parallel processes and for effectively coordinating and integrating management systems, regulations and sustainability processes.

All content is prepared in a sector-specific manner and taught in a practical way.

  • Introduction to sustainable development (dimensions, strategies, principles)
  • The role of the sustainability officer
  • Structure and key components of a sustainability strategy
  • Establishment of strategic and integrated sustainability management
  • Basics of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
  • Introduction to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)
  • Discussion of sector-specific value chains
  • Recommendations for conducting an efficient materiality analysis
  • Voluntary reporting in accordance with the VSME
  • Success factors for internal sustainability communication

Lecturer:

Dr. Martin Hellwig founded the Institute for Sustainability Education in Münster in 2004. His services are aimed at companies, local authorities and educational institutions. In addition to consulting, his activities focus on training, workshops and moderation. He is also a lecturer at the Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) in Bielefeld.
