Part-time bachelor’s degree in textiles or clothing

The Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences offers employees in the textile and clothing industry a part-time Bachelor’s degree course at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences (Level 6 in the EQF) after completing their company training.

The part-time course replaces the two-year, full-time (theoretical) training to become a “state-certified textile or clothing technician”, while at the same time meeting higher quality requirements.

Features of part-time bachelor’s programs

  • Prerequisite: Advanced technical college entrance qualification, general higher education entrance qualification or comparable qualification.
  • Part-time employment in the company is planned during the course (commitment to the company & financing of the course).
  • Possible part-time Bachelor’s degree programs:

– Clothing Technology – focus on “Clothing Management” or
– Clothing Technology – focus on “Product Development” or
– Textile Technology – focus on “Textile Management” or
– Textile Technology – focus on “Textile Technologies”.

  • The standard period of study is 7 or 9 semesters, depending on the variant.
  • Start annually in the winter semester (next opportunity: winter semester 2021/2022).

Study structure & variants Part-time Bachelor’s degree program

  • In this model, students are enrolled on a full-time course and are allowed to work a maximum of 20 hours a week during lecture periods.
  • It is possible to study in blocks (variant A) or on individual weekdays (variant B).
  • Trainees in companies that are not located near the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences also have the opportunity to study.
  • Optimal combination of in-company and academic training

Accompanying offers of the Textile Academy NRW

  • Accommodation in the guest house of the Textilakademie NRW directly on campus.
  • Training course for trainers (AdA).
  • Textile technical English” courses.
