Ceremonial awarding of certificates at the Textile Academy NRW

Friday, 05. Jul 2024

Last Friday, June 28, the Textilakademie NRW hosted a ceremony to present the graduation certificates for all two- and three-year apprenticeships. Numerous graduates accepted the invitation and attended the ceremony accompanied by their trainers, parents and friends.

Axel Tillmanns hosted the graduation ceremony, which began with a charming welcome speech by principal Anke Hollkott. Ms. Hollkott humorously compared the school years to a soccer match, based on the European Football Championship currently taking place in Germany; this was met with great approval by the invited guests. Peter Kemper, Head of Human Resources at the TWE Group, gave an inspiring speech about Generation Z, in which he emphasized the importance of properly supporting this generation. His optimistic words and emphasis on the strengths and potential of the younger generation were very well received and gave food for thought. Student representative Stine Schmidt gave a very entertaining and heartfelt review of the last three years of training at the academy under the tongue-in-cheek heading “Heaven & Hell – Our Vocational School”. These entertaining speeches were followed by the ceremonial presentation of the graduation certificates to the (former) trainees by the class teachers Alexandra Friederici, Susanne Gratz, Anke Hollkott and Christiane Schrage. The teachers found loving and humorous words for their protégés, which further emphasized the festive atmosphere. The pupils were visibly moved and proud to receive their certificates. Afterwards, a snack and a glass of sparkling wine in the academy foyer provided an opportunity for stimulating conversations and an exchange about future plans. The graduation ceremony of the Textile Academy NRW was a complete success and will be remembered fondly by all those involved. Rob Sure framed the entire event perfectly with his voice and acoustic guitar!

The entire team of the Textilakademie NRW congratulates all graduates once again and looks forward to next year’s event!
