The 3rd TexTech Start-up Night took place this evening in the auditorium of the NRW Textile Academy.
Organized by WFMG – Wirtschaftsförderung Mönchengladbach GmbH and digihub Düsseldorf/Rhineland, the event was all about innovative technologies and creative ideas in the textile and clothing industry.
The event was supported by AUNDE Achter & Ebels as the main sponsor. Mayor Felix Heinrichs, Dr. Ulrich Schückhaus from the WFMG and Katharina Gortat from digihub opened the evening with inspiring words about the importance of innovation in the textile industry.
A highlight of the evening was the pitch battle, in which the start-ups AlgaCore, Kokolor Clothing, Senstile, Riking Textil, MOOT Upcyciling and BioFashionTech presented innovative approaches in areas such as textile recycling, smart textiles and sustainable production. The competition, sponsored by AUNDE Group SE and Gesamtverband Mode+Textil, offered the chance to win prize money totaling €1,500. After an exciting final round, the winner Leon Blanckart with AlgaCore was crowned with great applause.
Another highlight was the Fireside Chat with an industry expert from AUNDE, who offered exciting insights into the future of textile technology. In addition, a presentation by Octo Germany, last year’s winners, enriched the program and provided inspiration for the participants.
The evening was rounded off with a networking session and an exhibition that provided space for exchange and new collaborations.
